WATER FILLED BARRIERS

A vital safety barrier solution

WATER FILLED BARRIERS FOR HIRE

Our water filled barriers will help stop, contain and re-direct an impacting vehicle, making them vital tools for traffic management and crash protection.

We offer 2 types of water filled barriers for hire:

SHIELD 1 BARRIER

The Shield 1 Water Filled Barrier utilises a high strength modified UV stabilised polyethylene. Australian made and approved by road authorities Australia wide (see below for more detail), it is MASH Tested to TL-1 (2,270kg), 50 km/H. This great deflective barrier also has top apertures for extended mesh fence top panels.

KI 1000 BARRIER

Our KI 1000 Barriers have been designed specifically as a pedestrian and medium speed zone barrier. With a simple interlocking system, this barrier can remain connected while moving through angles of up to 12- degrees each way. These barriers are also fitted with retro reflective tape and have two apertures topside for fitment of hazard lights, pole signage or extended mesh fencing.

This barrier also complies with Australian Standard AS1742-3-2019 Traffic Control Devices for works on roads.

Pedestrian barriers are designed for crowd control and low-speed zones, whereas crash-rated barriers (like our TL-1barrier Shield 1) are engineered to redirect vehicles and absorb impacts on speeds up to 50km/hr.

Our pedestrian barrier holds approximately 300L of water & our Shield 1 mash rated barriers hold 530L of water. When filled, they provide a formidable heavy-duty barrier that is difficult to displace.

Yes, we offer fence-top attachments that fit securely into the barriers. Shade cloth can also be added to reduce debris and dust as well as limiting visibility.

Our barriers are primarily available in high-vis, orange following standard Australian road safety protocols for maximum visibility day and night. We do also have a range of white barriers available upon request.

Each barrier is equipped with one or more large drainage bung at the base, allowing for quick and easy emptying without the need for specialized pumping equipment.

Our water filled barriers should be selected based on the relevant road authority, traffic management and site safety requirements for each project. Our KI 1000 Barrier complies with AS1742-3-2019 Traffic Control Devices for works on roads.

Our water filled barriers are generally easier to transport, install and remove than concrete barriers because they are lightweight when empty and filled on site. Concrete barriers may be used for heavier-duty applications, while our water filled barriers provide a flexible temporary option for traffic control, site safety, events and pedestrian separation.

The right water filled barrier depends on your site layout, traffic conditions, speed environment, safety requirements and whether you need additional features such as fence tops, signage or hazard lights. Our team can recommend a suitable barrier option based on your project needs.
