Case Study: Supporting Youth Mental Health Through Industry-Led Action
In 2025, 1300TempFence were proud to support The Big Dig, a powerful, industry-led fundraising initiative dedicated to improving youth mental health outcomes across Western Australia.
The Big Dig is a one-of-a-kind endurance challenge that brings together tradies, businesses and volunteers to hand-dig a one-metre-deep trench over a continuous 24-hour period. Designed to test resilience, teamwork and mental strength, the event raises critical funds and awareness for youth mental health charity Zero2Hero. Every dollar raised supports programs that empower resilient young people to become mental health leaders and helps prevent youth suicide across the state.
As a trusted provider of temporary fencing and site safety solutions, our role was to help ensure the event ran safely, securely and smoothly. Our Western Australian team supplied and installed a tailored site solution that supported both participants and spectators, while maintaining clear access control and strong visual branding throughout the event.
For The Big Dig 2025, we supplied and installed:
- 125 innovative SmartWall panels
- 600 metres of temporary fencing
- Custom-branded printed shade cloth
These solutions helped create a well-organised, secure environment while reinforcing the strong industry collaboration behind the cause.
The 2025 Big Dig proved to be a record-breaking year, raising more than $166,000 for Zero2Hero — the highest total achieved to date. All funds raised are directed straight into vital mental health education, resilience-building and suicide prevention programs for young people across Western Australia.
